Reason for Seeking Public Office:

Why am I running? For many reasons, but one reason stands out: it's because our state is at risk and I believe I can make a difference for the better.

Why am I running? For many reasons, but for sure, it's because our state is at risk and I believe I can make a difference for the better.

First, I want to retire here. My children and grandchildren live here, my ancestors lived here, and if things do not change in Connecticut, like many, I'm afraid I won't be able to afford to retire here. Connecticut is ranked the worst in the country to retire for many reasons, not the least is the burdensome tax treatment on seniors making it unaffordable to stay with their families.

Second, I believe our state an economic debacle, our financial situation untenable. As a small businessman most of my adult life, I believe I can do a better; make a positive change for we citizens in Connecticut District 29. Consider, Connecticut is now ranked last or near the bottom in the country on virtually every analysis and study of economic health.

My mission is to serve the 29th Senate District and the State of Connecticut in a manner that will return our beautiful state to a stable economy and the place we can all be proud to call "home".

Spouse's Occupation:

Wife, Lorraine, also works as the Store Manager for the Willimantic Interior Design and supports John's sacrifice of public service. They enjoy a blended family of five grown children and 6 grandchildren. John is proud that one of his grandson's will be graduating from Marine boot camp this year.
