Reason for Seeking Public Office:
I am running for office because our 18 year incumbent Ellen Story has been unwilling or unable to take on the long term issues that have put our great Commonwealth at a crossroads. At best she has stood by idly while our long term problems have continued to get worse. Our population has continued to decline, our leaders have not created any new net jobs over the last ten years, and we are facing a roughly 2.5 billion dollar deficit next fiscal year. Will our leaders continue to think that over taxing and over spending is the solution to all of our problems, or will we get a new generation of leaders that is willing to take on our big issues such as job creation and dealing with our unfunded liabilities. As someone who is willing to challenge the existing order in Boston and does not want to be a career politician, I feel that I am someone who can be what our district deserves, someone who will take on our long term problems incumbents have been unwilling to face and someone who will not flip flop on important issues.
