Title: Establishes the California Music Festival Preservation Grant Program
Vote to pass a bill that establishes the California Music Festival Preservation Grant Program.
Establishes the California Music Festival Preservation Grant Program within the Office of Small Business Advocate to provide grants to eligible independent live music festivals and support equitable access to the arts for all Californians (Sec. 1).
Requires grant applicants to be privately owned entities organized as a sole proprietorship, LLC, partnership, or 501(c)(3) nonprofit that organizes or hosts at least 1 multiday music festival on publicly owned lands in California featuring a minimum of 40 live music acts and at least 60,000 total paid admissions (Sec. 1).
Requires applicants to have entered into a multiyear agreement with the host jurisdiction for operation of the festival and to demonstrate support for local businesses and performers by serving beer from at least 3 local breweries, wine from at least 2 local wineries, and showcasing at least 3 performances by locally based artists (Sec. 1).
Authorizes $20,000,000 in grants to eligible promoters in one or more rounds, subject to appropriation by the Legislature (Sec. 1).
