Highlights:

• Authorizes a physician to perform an abortion based on their professional judgment (Sec. 1). 

• Repeals existing legal requirements that abortions after 24 weeks only be performed if necessary to preserve the patient’s life or health, or in cases of lethal or grave fetal anomalies (Sec. 1). 

• Prohibits any medical review process from overriding the professional judgement of a treating physician and a patient to provide an abortion (Sec. 2).
