Vote to pass a bill that requires county clerks to remove discriminatory language from existing plats in Oklahoma.

Highlights:

• Requires municipalities, upon the adoption and recording of an ordinance to remove discriminatory language from an existing plat, to provide the county clerk an Affidavit Regarding Correction of Plats (Sec. 1).

• Requires the Affidavit to contain (Sec. 1):

• The title of the plat to be corrected;

• The original book and page number in which the existing plat is recorded with the county clerk’s office;

• The plat’s section, township, and range;

• Recitation of the discriminatory language to be redacted, removed, or stricken from the plat; and

• A copy of the existing plat that identifies the discriminatory language.

• Requires the county clerk to redact the discriminatory language on the electronic version of the plat upon receiving the Affidavit from the municipality (Sec. 1).

• Specifies that this Act is effective November 1, 2026 (Sec. 2).
