Title: Prohibits the Use of Public Funds and Facilities for Gender Transition Procedures
Vote to pass a bill that prohibits the use of public funds and facilities for gender transition procedures, as defined, in Oklahoma.
Defines “gender transition procedures” as either of the following medical or surgical services performed to affirm an individual’s perception of their gender that is inconsistent with their biological sex (Sec. 1):
Surgical procedures that alter or remove physical or anatomical characteristics; or
Puberty-blocking drugs, cross-sex hormones, or other drugs to suppress puberty or promote features consistent with the opposite biological sex.
Prohibits public funds from being used to provide or subsidize gender transition procedures for minors or adults (Sec. 1).
Prohibits the state medicaid program from providing coverage or reimbursement for these procedures (Sec. 1).
Prohibits the use of state-owned property, buildings, or facilities for gender transition procedures (Sec. 1).
Classifies an intentional violation of this act by a state officer or employee as a misdemeanor (Sec. 1).
Exempts mental health counseling, treatments for depression or anxiety, and services for biochemically verifiable disorders of sex development (DSD) (Sec. 1).
Specifies that this act takes effect immediately upon passage (Sec. 2).
