Title: Prohibits a Health Insurer from Requiring a Health Care Provider to Accept Payments via Virtual Credit Card
Vote to pass a bill that prohibits a health insurer from requiring a health care provider in Wisconsin to accept payments via a virtual credit card.
Prohibits an insurer that offers disability insurance policies from requiring payments via virtual credit cards from a health care provider (Sec. 1).
Requires insurers offering disability insurance policies to do the following prior to an initial payment to a health care provider (Sec. 1):
Notify the provider of any fees associated with each payment method option available; and
Inform the provider of the payment methods available other than virtual credit card, and provide clear instructions for selecting a payment method.
Prohibits an insurer or contracted vendor that transmits a payment to a health care provider from charging a payment fee without consent from the provider (Sec. 1).
Specifies that this Act applies to contracts entered into, renewed, or modified on the effective date of this Act (Sec. 2).
