Highlights:

• Specifies that the official definition of “abortion” does not include any of the following (Sec. 1):

• Treatment of a miscarriage;

• Removal of the products of conception after an incomplete or inevitable loss of a pregnancy; or

• Treatment of an ectopic pregnancy.

• Requires a physician to perform an in-person examination of a pregnant individual prior to performing an abortion, including a screening for coercion or abuse (Sec. 3).
