Vote to pass a bill that authorizes military personnel to break a rental agreement under specified circumstances in Virginia.

Highlights:

• Authorizes members of the Armed Forces and National Guard to terminate rental contracts early if any of the following occurs (Sec. 1):

• The member receives a permanent change of station;

• The member receives temporary duty orders exceeding three months in duration;

• The member is discharged from active duty service;

• The member is ordered to relocate to government provided housing and will lose their housing allowance as a result; or

• The member received a stop movement order in response to a national or global emergency.

• Requires tenants to provide landlords with a written notice or signed letter confirming the orders (Sec. 1).
