Vote to pass a bill that amends election laws and prohibits foreign nationals from contributing to ballot initiatives in Nebraska.

Highlights:

• Requires the Department of Administrative Services to develop and maintain a public website featuring financial information for all Nebraska counties, cities, and villages by January 1, 2027, including revenue sources and expenditures (Sec. 2).

• Requires written notice to be provided to election workers at least 15 days prior to statewide elections (Sec. 5).

• Establishes deadlines for candidates who have legally changed their name to provide documentation to filing officers, specifying a March 1 deadline for primary elections and September 1 for general elections (Sec. 9).

• Authorizes political parties to allow independent voters to participate in their primary elections by filing a rule with the secretary of state at least 60 days prior to the election (Sec. 12).
