Title: Expands Reporting Requirements for Public Assistance Programs for Minors
Vote to pass a bill that expands reporting requirements for public assistance programs for minors in Louisiana.
Requires the Department of Children and Family Services to report information to the Department of Health following a hearing to determine information necessary to identify a child’s household after a change in circumstance (Sec. 2).
Requires the Department of Health to do the following after receiving a report from the Department of Children and Family Services (Sec. 2):
Review whether either of the child’s parents is receiving any public assistance benefits as a result of the child being included in the household;
Adjust nutrition assistance and other assistance programs for the parent’s household to reflect the change in circumstances; and
Issue a new Medicaid managed care insurance card for the child at the new residence if applicable.
