Vote to pass a bill that restricts the location or construction of immigration detention centers based on proximity to various designated public and private properties in Illinois.

Highlights:

• Prohibits immigration detention centers from being located or constructed within 1,500 feet of the following property boundaries (Sec. 5):

• Schools;

• Day care centers;

• Day care homes;

• Cemeteries;

• Public parks;

• Forest preserves;

• Public housing;

• Private residences; or

• Places of religious worship.
