Title: Prohibits Immigration Enforcement from Entering Certain Public Places Without a Warrant
Vote to concur with Senate amendments and pass a bill that prohibits individuals from authorizing immigration enforcement to enter certain public places, including schools, hospitals, and libraries, without a judicial warrant in Maine.
Prohibits individuals acting on behalf of a public school, health care facility, child care facility, or public library from providing voluntary consent for law enforcement officials conducting immigration enforcement to enter a nonpublic area of the respective facility or review the records of the facility (Sec. 1-4).
Specifies that the provisions of this Act do not apply to valid judicial warrants authorizing entry into nonpublic areas of facilities or access to facility records (Sec. 1-4).
Specifies that this Act will take effect upon its passage into law (Sec. 5).
