Vote to pass a bill that authorizes lawmakers to select all members of the board of trustees of the Alabama Department of Archives and History.

Highlights:

• Specifies the composition of the board of trustees of the Alabama Department of Archives and History as the following (Sec. 1):

• One representative from each of Alabama’s seven congressional districts appointed by the governor;

• One at-large representative appointed by the governor;

• One at-large representative appointed by the Speaker of the House of Representatives from a list of three candidates compiled by the Minority Leader of the House;

• Three at-large representatives appointed by the Speaker of the House of Representatives;

• One at-large representative appointed by the President Pro-Tempore of the Senate from a list of three candidates compiled by the Minority Leader of the Senate; and

• Three at-large representatives appointed by the President Pro-Tempore of the Senate.

• Authorizes the Governor of Alabama or their designee to serve as a voting member of the Board (Sec. 1).
