Vote to pass a bill that prohibits public universities in Iowa from hiring certain visa holders from designated foreign adversaries.

Highlights:

• Prohibits institutions of higher education from entering into an employment contract with an individual who is a holder of a valid H-1B visa and who is a citizen of a nation designated as a foreign adversary or a state sponsor of terrorism by the U.S. Secretary of State on or after July 1, 2026 (Sec. 3). 

• Requires institutions of higher education to adopt a policy to prohibit employment contracts as described above (Sec. 1-4).
