Vote to pass a bill that expands no-sports days for schools in Kansas.

Highlights:

• Authorizes nonpublic schools to permit any student who meets certain requirements, including academic eligibility, residence, and age requirements, to participate in regulated activities and events offered by the nonpublic school (Sec. 1).

• Requires a moratorium on interscholastic contests, activities, and practices during the following time periods (Sec. 2):

• Every Sunday;

• A consecutive five-day period including December 25;

• A consecutive four-day period ending at the conclusion of Easter Sunday;

• A consecutive seven-day period including July 4; and

• Every Wednesday between 6:00 p.m. and 11:59 p.m. from September 1 through April 30 each year.

• Specifies that this moratorium applies to students and staff members, regardless of whether activities or practices take place on or off school premises (Sec. 2).

• Specifies that this Act takes effect after its publication in the statute book (Sec. 3).
