Highlights:

• Classifies the knowing and willing entry of a restroom or changing room in a publicly owned building that is designated for the opposite biological sex as a misdemeanor, and establishes a penalty of imprisonment of up to one year for violation (Sec. 1).

• Classifies a second violation that occurs within five years of the first as a felony and establishes a penalty of imprisonment of up to five years (Sec. 1).

• Exempts individuals who enter a restroom or changing room designated for the opposite sex in any of the following circumstances (Sec. 1):

• To perform custodial services or maintenance;

• To render medical assistance;

• To accompany one’s own child or a child for whom they are the guardian.
