Vote to pass a bill that requires adjoining homeowners to receive notice of lien foreclosures in Alabama.

Highlights:

• Requires municipalities to establish procedures that allow adjoining property owners to submit bids before public auction (Sec. 1). 

• Requires such bidders to submit an affidavit stating that they are an owner/occupant of an immediately adjoining property, and that they are exempt or eligible for exemption from ad valorem taxes (Sec. 1). 

• Authorizes a municipality to accept the highest bid from an adjoining owner and cancel the public auction for such property (Sec. 1).

• Authorizes a municipality to proceed with a public sale if there are no bids from adjoining owners (Sec. 1).
