Title: Requires Voters to Indicate a Party or Independent for Their Registration to be Valid
Vote to pass a bill that requires voters to indicate a party affiliation for their registration to be valid in Oklahoma.
Requires the Secretary of the State Elections Board to provide a space or section to designate a political party recognized by the state with which an applicant chooses to be affiliated (Sec. 1).
Requires a person who does not indicate a recognized political party or independent on their registration application to be deemed as not to have completed their registration (Sec. 1).
Requires the applicant to be notified to complete the application by selecting a party affiliation or independent status before the application can be accepted (Sec. 1).
Specifies that this act is effective January 1, 2027 (Sec. 2).
