Title: Prohibits the Use of 3D Printing to Manufacture Firearms
Vote to pass a bill that prohibits the use of 3D printing to manufacture firearms in Colorado.
Prohibits any individual from knowingly manufacturing or producing a firearm by means of a three-dimensional (3D) printer or similar device (Sec. 1).
Classifies a violation of the above as a class 1 misdemeanor for a first offense, and a class 5 felony for a second or subsequent offense (Sec. 1).
Exempts licensed firearm manufacturers and instructors or students of an accredited gunsmithing program from the prohibition described above (Sec. 1).
Prohibits any individual from knowingly distributing or offering for sale digital instructions that may be used to manufacture a firearm with a 3D printer (Sec. 1).
Classifies a violation of the above as a civil offense (Sec. 1).
Specifies that this Act takes effect July 1, 2026 (Sec. 3).
