Title: Reduces the Budget for Many State Agencies in Fiscal Year 2026
Vote to pass a bill that reduces the budget for many Idaho state agencies and departments by 4% in fiscal year 2026.
Reduces the appropriations made to the following entities and purposes for fiscal year 2026 (Sec. 1):
Public school support;
The State Board of Education;
The Department of Health and Welfare;
The State Independent Living Council;
The Department of Correction;
The judicial branch;
The Department of Juvenile Corrections;
Idaho state police;
The Department of Environmental Quality;
The Department of Fish and Game;
The Board of Land Commissioners;
The Department of Parks and Recreation;
The Department of Water Resources;
The Department of Agriculture;
The Department of Commerce;
The Department of Finance;
The Industrial Commission;
The Department of Insurance;
The Department of Labor;
The Public Utilities Commission;
Self-governing agencies;
The Idaho Transportation Department;
The Department of Administration;
The Attorney General;
The State Controller;
The Office of the Governor;
The legislative branch;
The Lieutenant Governor;
The Department of Revenue and Taxation;
The Secretary of State; and
The State Treasurer.
Reduces the number of authorized full time equivalent positions for a variety of state programs, including various youth services, corrections, police, environmental divisions, and others (Sec. 2).
Appropriates $22.37 million from the Public School Income Fund to the General Fund for fiscal year 2026 (Sec. 3).
Specifies that this Act takes effect immediately upon passage (Sec. 4).
