Title: Increases the Penalty for Impersonation of a Law-Enforcement Official
Vote to pass a bill that increases the penalty for impersonating law-enforcement officials, including firefighters and emergency medical technicians, in Delaware.
Classifies criminal impersonation of a law enforcement official as a Class D felony, or a class C felony if they injure someone, commit another felony, or commit a sexual offense (Sec. 1).
Defines the criminal impersonation of a law enforcement as an individual intending to facilitate a crime who does either of the following (Sec. 1):
Intentionally and without official permission pretends to be a law enforcement officer; or
Commits an act intended to reinforce the individual’s false impression of a law enforcement official.
