Vote to concur with House amendments and pass a bill that establishes and amends certain requirements, including immigration status reporting, for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) in Indiana.

Highlights:

• Establishes the Indiana rural health transformation fund and makes allotments and expenditures from the fund subject to budget committee review (Sec. 4).

• Requires the office of the secretary of family and social services (office) to report biannually to the budget committee concerning the use of the money in the fund (Sec. 4).

• Prohibits individuals from receiving Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits unless they are a U.S. resident who meets at least one of the following (Sec. 6):

• Is a citizen or national of the U.S.;

• Is an immigrant lawfully admitted for permanent residence;

• Is an immigrant who has been granted status as a Cuban or Haitian entrant under the Refugee Education Assistance Act of 1980; or
