Vote to pass a bill that prohibits the instruction of critical race theory and LGBTQ+ issues in schools in New Hampshire.

Highlights:

• Prohibits any public school, school district, or public employee from engaging in the teaching of critical theories including the following (Sec. 3):

• Systemic oppression through American societal structures, including the U.S. Constitution or legal system;

• The identification of personal or societal “oppressors” and “oppressed”;

• Cultural pedagogy that prioritizes identity-based division over shared American values;

• The affirmation of LGBTQ+ identities as ethical or normative; and

• Use of analysis to frame history or current events primarily as class, racial, or identity-based conflicts.

• Authorizes the use of disciplinary action for employees in public education if this act is violated (Sec. 3).

• Authorizes the use of factual, neutral instruction on historical events and figures (Sec. 3).

• Authorizes age-appropriate health education if it does not compel ideological affirmation (Sec. 3).

• Requires the department of education to develop and publish new guidelines within 90 days of when this act takes effect (Sec. 3).

• Authorizes students and parents aggrieved by a violation of this act to bring civil action against the public school or district, and authorizes the court to award relief and damages of up to $10,000 per violation, as well as attorney and court fees (Sec. 3).

• Specifies that this act is effective September 1, 2026 (Sec. 4).
