Title: Prohibits the Manufacture and Sale of Ghost Guns

Vote to pass a bill that prohibits the manufacture and sale of plastic and otherwise undetectable firearms, commonly known as "ghost guns," in Washington.

Highlights:

  • Expands existing prohibitions on the manufacture of machine guns, certain firearm modifications, and undetectable firearms to include the manufacture of such products by means of 3-D printing (Sec. 4-6).

  • Prohibits individuals from distributing a digital firearm manufacturing code, which is defined as the digital instructions or design files required to 3-D print undetectable firearms or firearm parts (Sec. 5).

  • Prohibits individuals from selling, transferring, distributing, or offering a digital firearm manufacturing code to any individual who is not licensed as a firearms manufacturer (Sec. 6).

  • Specifies that the prohibition of Section 6 described above also applies to digital firearm manufacturing codes for an unfinished frame or receiver (Sec. 7).

  • Specifies that this Act, except for Section 3, takes effect immediately upon passage (Sec. 10).
