Title: Prohibits Harassment, Bullying, and Cyberbullying of Students on School Property
Vote to pass a bill that prohibits harassment, bullying, and cyberbullying of students by other students on school property or at school functions in New York.
Establishes this bill to be known as the Jack Reid Law: Protect All Students Act. (Sec. 1)
Specifies that all students in a nonpublic school are to have a bullying and harassment free environment (Sec. 2a).
Defines bullying and harassment as the creation of a hostile environment due to threats, intimidation, or abuse (Sec. 2a).
Requires schools to adopt an anti-bullying and harassment policy (Sec. 2a).
Specifies that the policy must be posted to the school's website, parent and student portals (Sec. 2a).
Requires school staff who’ve received a report of bullying or harassment, whether written or oral, to report to the principal no later than 2 days from the initial report (Sec. 2a).
