Title: Requires Daycare Centers to be Considered a Residential Use of Property When Colocated with Multifamily Housing
Vote to concur with Senate amendments and pass a bill that requires child daycare centers, when colocated with multifamily housing, to be considered a residential use of property and a use by right.
Establishes that daycare centers are considered residential use of property when colocated with multifamily housing (Sec. 1).
Prohibits local jurisdictions from imposing a charge, tax, or fee for a business license, equivalent instrument, or permit for the privilege of operating a daycare center that is collocated with multifamily housing (Sec. 1).
Establishes that this law does not prevent jurisdictions from imposing zoning and health/safety laws and that daycare centers are not exempt from state licensing laws (Sec. 1).
