Title: Requires County and City Jails to Ask Inmates to Provide Emergency Contact Information
Vote to amend and pass a bill that requires county and city jails in California to ask inmates to provide emergency contact information.
Establishes this bill to be known as Wakiesha’s Law (Sec. 1).
Requires an incarcerated individual's next of kin to be notified within 24 hours of their death (Sec. 1).
Specifies that any costs arising from this bill will be reimbursed to the correct agency (Sec. 2).
