Vote to concur with Senate amendments and pass a bill that requires law enforcement agencies to review the casefile of an open unsolved homicide upon written applications by certain persons to determine if a re-investigation would result in probable investigative leads.

Highlights:

• Requires law enforcement agencies to develop a written application for immediate family members to request a review of an unsolved homicide case from January 1, 1990, or later, and open a case review upon receipt of a satisfactory application (Sec. 1).

• Requires the agencies to provide written notice of decision as to whether or not the case will be reinvestigated, in the case no reinvestigation is not conducted, or in the case a reinvestigation does take place and no subject is identified, no additional case file review shall be undertaken for 5 years (Sec. 1).
