Vote to pass a bill that requires the total amount of rental deposits to be refundable upon a tenant vacating the premises in New York.

Highlights:

• Establishes that no deposit or advance shall exceed the amount of one month's rent (Sec. 1).

• Establishes that the entire amount of the deposit or advance shall be refundable if the tenant vacates the property unless damage (Sec. 1).

• Requires the landlord to provide the tenant to inspect the premises with the landlord or their agent before beginning occupation (Sec. 1).

• Requires the landlords to provide notice of inspection at least 48 hours in advance when the tenant intends to vacate (Sec. 1).
