Title: Authorizes an Employer to Report to the Department of Workforce Development an Unemployment Recipient who Declines or Fails to Show up to a Job Interview or Declines a Job Offer
Vote to concur with House amendments and pass a bill that authorizes an employer to report to the Department of Workforce Development an unemployment recipient who declines or fails to show up to a job interview or declines a job offer in Wisconsin.
Authorizes an employer to report to the Department of Workforce Development when any of the following occurs (Sec. 1):
An individual declines a job interview or offer;
An individual fails to respond to an employer’s job offer or interview;
An individual fails to attend a scheduled interview with the employer;
An employee claiming benefits is unavailable or unable to perform work that is available to them; or
An employer recalls an individual who fails to return to work.
Requires a claimant for unemployment benefits to include in their verification a record of all job offers, job interview offers, recalls to return to work, and any other offers of work received since the prior week’s verification (Sec. 5).
Specifies that if a claimant for unemployment benefits is required to conduct a reasonable search for suitable work, any of the following actions would result in failure to satisfy that requirement (Sec. 7):
Declining a job interview offer;
Failing to respond to a job interview offer within three working days; or
Canceling or failing to attend a scheduled job interview.
Specifies that this Act takes effect on the Sunday after its publication (Sec. 15).
