Title: Amends the Distribution of Sales Tax Revenue
Vote to pass a bill that amends the distribution of sales tax revenue in Michigan.
Amends the distribution of sales tax revenue in Michigan and specifies for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2026, and each fiscal year thereafter, $755 million of the collections of the tax imposed at a rate of 4% under this act must be deposited in the state school aid fund (Sec. ).
Specifies that in addition to the money distributed to cities, villages and townships under subsection (2), for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2026 and each fiscal year thereafter, $95 million of the collections of the tax imposed at a rate of 4% under this act must be distributed on a per capita population basis to cities, villages, and townships pursuant to the Glenn Steil state revenue sharing act of 1971 (Sec. ).
Specifies that the provisions of this bill shall take effect immediately upon passage and approval by the Governor and subsequent enactment of the following legislation (Sec. ):
