Vote to pass a bill that expands the statute of limitations for civil action against criminal sexual assault to either 10 years after the time the claim accrues, until the individual reaches 42 years of age, 7 years after the individual's discovery of damages resulting from criminal sexual conduct, or anytime after a criminal prosecution that resulted in a conviction for criminal sexual conduct in Michigan.

Highlights:

• Authorizes individuals of criminal sexual conduct to pursue legal action either 10 years after the crime, before the individual turns 42 years, or 7 years after they become aware they've been injured (Sec. 5851b).

• Specifies that action can be brought without limitations if a criminal prosecution is brought about and results in a conviction for criminal sexual conduct (Sec. 5851b).
