Title: Authorizes Non Profit Cannabis Dispensaries to Convert to For Profit Businesses
Vote to pass a bill that authorizes non-profit cannabis dispensaries to convert to for-profit businesses in New Hampshire.
Defines “alternative treatment center” as a domestic corporation, LLC, or non-profit that delivers cannabis and related supplies and materials to qualifying patients and caregivers (Sec. 1).
Specifies that the board of directors or managers of an alternative treatment center must include (Sec 2):
At least 1 licensed medical professional;
At least 1 qualifying patient; and
A majority of members who are New Hampshire residents.
Prohibits medical professionals on the board from having ownership interest in the center (Sec. 2).
Authorizes alternative treatment centers to operate on a for-profit or not-for-profit basis for the benefit of patients (Sec. 3).
Requires a two-thirds vote of the board of directors or unanimous consent for conversion or merger (Sec 4).
Requires the Secretary of State to certify conversions or mergers and notify the Department of Health and Human Services to update licenses (Sec 4).
Specifies that this Act takes effect 60 days after passage (Sec. 9).
