Highlights:

• Authorizes additional powers for existing and future authorities established under the Recreation Authorities Act (Sec. 5).

• Increases the capability for rural, forest-reliant communities, in Michigan’s northern Lower Peninsula and Upper Peninsula, to establish an authority that can effectively govern and manage local forest resources (Sec. 5).

• Specifies that the provisions of this bill shall take effect immediately upon passage and approval by the Governor and subsequent enactment of H.B. 4798 and H.B. 4695 (Sec. 5).
