Vote to pass a bill that amends code related to building inspection fees and appeals in Ohio.

Highlights:

• Requires the State Board of Building Appeals or a certified municipal or county board of appeals to do the following in the case of a request for expedited appeal in response to an order from local enforcement officials (Sec. 1):

• Begin the appeal within one business day after the request was made; and

• Hold a hearing within five business days after the request was made.

• Authorizes an individual to request the remainder of an appeal to be expedited by the Board if the Board issues a continuance of a hearing regarding an appeal that was not originally requested to be expedited (Sec. 1).

• Authorizes the Board to establish additional fees for expedited appeals, up to $500 per day that the appeal is pending, and a maximum of $1,000 for the entire appeal (Sec. 1).
