Title: Requires the Department of Transportation to Include Information about Potholes and Pothole Repair Projects in its Annual Roadway Pavement System Report
Vote to concur with House amendments and pass a bill that requires the Department of Transportation to include information on pothole repair projects and the resources allocated for these projects in its Annual Roadway Pavement System Report.
Requires the Commissioner of the Department of Transportation to issue a report to the Governor and Legislature at the end of each fiscal year containing the numerical rankings of pavements for roads needing maintenance and repair (Sec. 11).
Specifies that the report should also identify (Sec. 11):
The repair and maintenance projects that were completed during the fiscal year;
The number of pothole repair projects;
An estimate of the cost of impact to the Department of Transportation for each maintenance and repair project;
The resources the Department of Transportation has allocated for each maintenance and repair project; and
An estimate for the timeframe to conduct each maintenance and repair project.
Requires this report to be made available to the public through the Department of Transportation’s website (Sec. 11).
Requires the Commissioner of the Department of Transportation to conduct a life cycle cost analysis of pavement surfaces and report the findings to the Governor and Legislature (Sec. 12).
Specifies that this report shall be based upon New Jersey’s actual historic project maintenance, repair, and resurfacing schedules and costs and shall include (Sec. 12):
Estimates of costs to users of state roadways throughout the entire life of the pavement;
The number of pothole damage claims filed by users of state roadways; and
The associated cost and damages of pothole damage claims.
