Highlights:

• Requires law enforcement agencies to include a written policy on the identification of personnel, including the following (Sec. 2): 

• A purpose statement promising transparency and accountability; 

• A requirement that all law enforcement in the course of their duties wear visible identification that details their agency, name and badge number; and

• A list of exceptions for undercover or plainsclothes operations, or in urgent circumstances.

• Defines a law enforcement officer as someone employed by any of the following agencies (Sec. 2):

• City, county, or local law enforcement agency; 

• Other state law enforcement agency; or

• Federal law enforcement agency.

• Classifies a violation of this bill as an infraction or misdemeanor (Sec. 10).
