Vote to pass a bill that requires the Department of Justice to provide grants to specified Child Advocacy Centers in Wisconsin for responding to suspected child maltreatment.

Highlights:

• Repeals the requirement for the Department of Justice to provide annual grants of $17,000 to specified child advocacy centers for education, training, medical advice, and quality assurance activities (Sec. 1).

• Requires the Department of Justice to award grants in each fiscal year to the following child advocacy centers to enhance the multidisciplinary response to suspected child maltreatment (Sec. 1):

• Milwaukee Child Advocacy Center in Milwaukee County;

• Kenosha County Child Advocacy Center in Kenosha County;

• Fox Valley Child Advocacy Center in Outagamie County;

• Child Advocacy Center of North Central Wisconsin in Marathon County;

• Chippewa Valley Child Advocacy Center in Eau Claire County;
