Vote to amend and pass a bill that amends certain requirements relating to teacher certification and school year length for K-12 education in California.

Highlights:

• Amends requirements for teachers to have an additional subject appear on their credential by removing the qualification that the additional subject be one that the teacher is not already credentialed to teach (Sec. 3).

• Amends physical education requirements for grades 1-12 to calculate the minimum scheduled time based on school days instead of minutes (Sec. 5).

• Specifies which entities are being referenced in certain existing education provisions, including ones on state preschool programs and cellphone use in classrooms (Sec. 1-4).
