Vote to pass a bill that exempts water corporations from employee lunch break requirements in California.

Highlights:

• Requires employers to provide a minimum 30 minute meal break for every five hours of work. If the employee works only six hours in the day, then the employee and employer can mutually agree to waive the meal requirement (Sec. 1). 

• Specifies that the meal requirement does not apply if the employee is in a collective bargaining agreement which includes meal requirements for employees (Sec. 1).

• Expands the list of entities that are exempt from the requirement described above to include water corporations (Sec. 1).
