Title: Establishes Minimum Staffing Standards for Emergency Medical Services
Vote to pass a bill that establishes minimum staffing standards for emergency medical services in New York.
Requires ambulance units responding to calls for emergency medical services in a city with a population of over one million to be staffed by a team of at least two certified emergency medical technicians or advanced emergency medical technicians (Sec. 1).
Requires supervisors’ vehicles responding to calls for emergency medical services in a city with a population of over one million to be staffed by a team of one supervisor and one staff member, each of whom are certified as an emergency medical technician or advanced emergency medical technician (Sec. 1).
Specifies that the first provision detailed above takes effect upon passage, and the second provision detailed above takes effect one year after this Act becomes law (Sec. 2).
