Title: Repeals the State of Texas Assessment of Academic Readiness (STAAR) Assessment Program
Vote to pass a bill that repeals the State of Texas Assessment of Academic Readiness (STAAR) assessment program.
Repeals the State of Texas Assessment of Academic Readiness (STAAR) assessment program (Sec. 1-4).
Amends provisions relating to public school accountability and transparency, including (Sec. 1-4):
The implementation of an instructionally supportive assessment program and the adoption and administration of assessment instruments in public schools;
Indicators of achievement;
Public school performance ratings;
Interventions and sanctions under the public school accountability system;
A grant program for school district local accountability plans; and
Actions challenging Texas Education Agency decisions related to public school accountability.
Specifies that the provisions of this bill shall take effect 91 days after the final adjournment date of the current legislative session (Sec. 5).
