Vote to adopt a conference report and pass a bill that requires an obituary notice from a funeral grounds to remove an individual from the voter rolls and allows military spouses to work as poll workers in Kansas.

Highlights:

• Authorizes active military members, their spouses, and their dependents to serve as poll workers in Kansas (Sec. 1).

• Amends a requirement that mail soliciting voter registration contain certain information and repeals a requirement that such information include specific details regarding the sender’s organization (Sec. 2).

• Authorizes individuals to send solicitations containing advance ballot applications provided by county election offices (Sec. 2). 

• Repeals a requirement that solicitations containing advance voting ballot applications also include an envelope addressed to the appropriate county election office (Sec. 2).

• Authorizes the county election officer to remove the name of a registered voter from relevant voter lists when said voter appears in an obituary published by a funeral home (Sec. 3).

• Expands eligibility to serve as a judge or clerk to include all United States citizens living in the state of Kansas (Sec. 4).
