Vote to recede and concur with Senate amendments and pass a bill that prohibits the manufacture, possession, importation, sale, or transfer of undetectable firearms in Maine.
Authorizes firearm dealers to return a firearm, unfinished frame, or receiver to the original owner after imprinting a serial number (Sec. 4).
Defines “undetectable firearms” as firearms that can operate while in a form that is not detectable by standard security (Sec. 5).
Prohibits the knowing possession, transfer, import, or manufacturing of undetectable firearms (Sec. 5).
Establishes violations involving undetectable firearms as criminal offenses, with harsher penalties for possession in sensitive places like schools or government buildings or use in serious crimes (Sec. 5).
