Vote to amend and pass a bill that expands procedures for health care provider credentialing and prior authorization, and expands the Gold Card exemption program for providers with high prior authorization approval rates in Nevada.

Highlights:

• Expands procedures for health care provider credentialing and prior authorization, and expands the Gold Card exemption program for providers with high prior authorization approval rates in Nevada (Sec. 1-126).

• Requires private insurers and those providing Medicaid coverage to acknowledge receipt of prior authorization requests within two business days, with some leeway (Sec. 1-126).

• Repeals prior authorization requirements for certain preventive care services, outpatient substance use disorder services and glucose test strips for individuals with diabetes (Sec. 1-126).

• Requires the Director to conduct a biennial assessment of the health care workforce needs of this State, which must identify health care professions and specialties, types of clinical services and expertise and geographic areas experiencing critical shortages of providers of health care or clinical services or expertise (Sec. 1-126).

• Specifies that the provisions of this bill shall begin to take effect upon passage and approval by the Governor starting January 1, 2026 (Sec. 127).
