Vote to pass a bill that prohibits school administrators from directing school nurses in the practice of nursing in Oregon.

Highlights:

• Specifies that a school nurse, or a registered nurse whose responsibilities include the coordination of school nursing services, shall coordinate school nursing services (Sec. 1).

• Authorizes an administrator or other staff member who is not a nurse to supervise, evaluate, or direct a school nurse or registered nurse related to their role as a school employee, including hours, location, and workload (Sec. 1).

• Prohibits an administrator or other staff member who is not a nurse from directing the school nurse or registered nurse in the practice of nursing (Sec. 1).

• Specifies that this Act does not prohibit another nurse or a school administrator or other staff member who is not a nurse from conferring with the school nurse related to the practice of nursing or issues of student safety (Sec. 1).
