Votes to pass a bill that authorizes registered nurses to be reimbursed by the Oregon Health Authority for certain care management services provided to patients without requiring an order from a primary care provider.

Highlights:

• Prohibits the Oregon Health Authority from requiring a primary care provider to order a covered care management service as a condition of reimbursing a nurse for the costs of the service when (Sec. 2):

• The service is provided by a licensed registered nurse to a medical assistance recipient;

• The service is within the nurse’s authorized scope of practice; and

• The patient does not have a primary care provider.

• Requires the Authority to develop a schedule of covered care management services for which a registered nurse may seek reimbursement (Sec. 2).

• Specifies that Section 2 of this Act takes effect on January 1, 2026 (Sec. 3).
