Title: Requires All Health Insurance Plans to Cover the Treatment of Perimenopause, Menopause, and Postmenopause
Vote to pass a bill that requires all health insurance plans to cover the treatment of perimenopause, menopause, and postmenopause in Oregon.
Requires all health benefit plans to include coverage of the treatment of perimenopause, menopause, and postmenopause, including the following (Sec. 2):
Hormone therapy including combination estrogen and hormone medicines, combination estrogen and progesterone medicines, and estrogen-only medicines;
SSRIs and SNRIs;
Vaginal estrogen;
Medications to prevent or treat osteoporosis;
Neurokinin B antagonists;
Topical hormone therapy; and
Bioidentical hormones.
Expands the health benefit plan coverages of the Public Employees’ Benefit Board and Oregon Educators Benefit Board to include the treatments described in Section 2 (Sec. 3-6).
Increases the maximum limit of expenses by the Public Employees’ Benefit Board by $1,109,179 for the coverage described in Section 2 (Sec. 7).
Increases the maximum limit of expenses by the Oregon Educators Benefit Board by $291,077 for the coverage described in Section 2 (Sec. 8).
Specifies that the amendments to the Public Employees’ Benefit Board and the Oregon Educators Benefit Board apply to coverage plans issued, renewed, or extended on or after January 1, 2026 (Sec. 9).
