Vote to pass a bill that prohibits lawsuits against hospitals for injury caused by drugs that the hospital did not design, manufacture, or sell commercially in Oregon.
Specifies that a healthcare facility, hospital-affiliated clinic, residential care facility, or a professional corporation that practices medicine do not qualify as a manufacturer, distributor, seller, or lessor of a product if (Sec. 1):
It provides the product to a patient as part of health care services;
It was not involved in the design or manufacture of the product; and
It does not offer the product to the general public in a retail setting.
